Florida State University offered a steady stream of traffic throughout the week. Tens of thousands passed our location on the lawn of the student union building. CBR helped form a new pro-life student group during our visit to FSU. Many students stopped by our display during the week to sign up for our mailing list and join the organization. We were blessed by tremendous student support during our time at FSU. Damon, pictured here at left, is a pre-med senior who joined us all week long despite his rigorous school schedule. He commented on the second day that he was so excited about the opportunity GAP afforded him to speak with his peers, that he could hardly sleep the night before in anticipation of coming back. CBR Executive Director Gregg Cunningham speaks with a group of female students who were angry that he had added a few amendments to the pro-abort graffiti they had chalked onto the sidewalk around our exhibit.
CBR volunteers Terry Stewart and James Paul speak with African-American students about the parallels between the dehumanization of blacks and the dehumanization of the unborn. Faron (in blue shirt. a pro-life student and CBR staffer Michael Spielman talk with two students about the reality of abortion. She refused to believe that the images could possibly be real. For many students, denying the legitimacy of our images is their only escape. To acknowledge their reality would be a concession of monumental proportions, the ramifications of which would threaten their entire belief system. Lisa Brady, pictured at right, is a senior poli-sci major at FSU and president of Eagle Forum, the student group which sponsored our visit. Her assistance was invaluable to us all week long. CBR does not define the problem without providing a solution.
This FSU student explained that at a party he attended the night before, the abortion debate took over the entire evening and even disrupted the usual drinking pattern. Our breast-cancer signs stimulated more demand for copies of our medical journal studies than we had ever seen. CBR staffer Michael Spielman talks with FSU students, staffers Dina Bresenden and Todd Beauchamp look on. Pro-life student Lisa Brady is interviewed by a Florida television station about her decision to help bring CBR to campus and why she believes abortion is genocide.
